“Evaluating Dispatch Personnel: Different Systems,
Different Criteria”
The recent proliferation of new software available for
PSAP centers has come with a wide range of features for both dispatch personnel
as well as administrators. These features include a variety of evaluation tools
previously unavailable. In this session, InterAct Public Safety Systems will
examine how administrators can effectively use these tools in evaluating their
dispatch personnel’s performance.
Speaker Bio
Deidre Chaney is currently
a regional vice president in charge of sales for InterAct Public Safety
Systems. Prior to joining InterAct 8 years ago, she held the position of 9-1-1
Director at Tangipahoa Parish, LA where she was responsible for monitoring and
evaluating the performance of 14 call takers and dispatchers. She had never
been a dispatcher before being hired as the 9-1-1 Director. As 9-1-1 Director,
she also trained all department personnel and even dispatched in neighboring
agencies while her center was waiting to get “turned on.”
