INVITATION TO EXHIBIT

Tuesday, October 13th
from 11:00 – 11:50
Robert Scheitlin
GIS Manager
Calhoun County Commission
“Getting the Most Out of Your GIS for Emergency
Response”
It starts with cooperation. There are many entities in
your local government and utilities that have been collecting and creating GIS
data for their own use that can be brought together and benefit everyone.
Cadastral Data from the Revenue office is a great base-map, and with 911
geo-coded streets and coordination between the highway department and 911, this
road layer can serve both of their needs. Cooperation is key!
Speaker Bio
Robert Scheitlin started work with GIS back in the U.S. Army, where he used
ArcView 3.x to divide and tack land parcels for closing Base Realignment And
Closure (BRAC) installations. He then went to work for SAIC as a GIS Programmer
after 5 years of working on a wide range of GIS applications and
implementations, and as a certified ESRI instructor dealing with both military,
local governments, and foreign governments. He started work for Calhoun County
as the GIS Manager and has coordinated and assisted in GIS efforts ranging from
911, the Revenue Dept., to City and County Utilities.
